Art Display

Elin O., Grade 7, Pilgrim Lutheran Christian School, Beaverton, OR

Description/Regulations

The art display provides recognition for each student’s contribution. There is no specific rubric or criteria for this activity. Art pieces will be adjudicated against how well they demonstrate the elements of art they utilize. Ribbons are given for Blue, Red, and White Level art. All artwork must be original designs (nothing copied from magazines, cards, pre-packaged craft projects, etc.). Art pieces will be displayed here on this webpage. We will also strive to have them visible on displays at some of our L.E.S.T. Northwest venues.

The Art Adjudication Rubric is shared here below for your consideration as you assist students in the preparation of their art pieces.

Schedule

To give judges plenty of time to evaluate each piece of artwork, each school is to upload each student’s art to the L.E.S.T. Virtual Art Display Dropbox folder by end of day, Thursday, January 15, 2026. You do NOT need to have a Dropbox account to upload to the Dropbox folder. The art will be on display on the L.E.S.T. Northwest website prior to the start of the L.E.S.T. Acknowledgement of the Art Blue Ribbon winners is made at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday. Announcement of the following year’s “LEST LOGO DESIGN” is also made at the awards ceremony (see below for further explanation).

How to Participate

Schools signify their intent to participate on the General Registration Form. Each school is to upload each student’s art to the L.E.S.T. Art Display Dropbox folder by end of day, Thursday, January 15, 2026. You do NOT need to have a Dropbox account to upload to the Dropbox folder. All image files are to be uploaded as JPG or PNG files. Do not cover any part of the art (or logo design entry) with a label – we want to fully see the work. Art displayed online will include first name/last initial along with grade and school. Please observe a limit of 15 total artworks per school, one piece of art per student, and no more than five additional L.E.S.T. Northwest logo entries per school.

LEST Northwest Logo Design

The LEST logo design was begun in 1989. Each school is limited to five entries for this event. One design will be chosen for the following year’s LEST Northwest, and a brief presentation will be made at the awards ceremony. Recommendations are that the design is simple and that some religious wording and/or artistry be used in the entry. The design is to be done in pencil or black ink on white 8 ½ x 11 inch paper. Avoid lined paper. L.E.S.T. Northwest Logo Competition entries are to be submitted to the separate Dropbox folder designated for them. L.E.S.T. Northwest reserves the right to make any changes or modifications to the design chosen for the logo.
